Para o Iphone com firmware 2.0, faça o seguinte (os arquivos que fiz foram para a TIM):

Acessem o iPhone via SSH e coloquem os arquivos em seus devidos lugares:

UIPhoneFormats.plist em /System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework/PhoneFormats/

PhoneNumberTemplates.plist em /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppSupport.framework/

OBS: Este post esta desatualizado e os procedimentos a seguir NÃO devem ser usados com os novos iPhones que possuem Firmware 1.1.2, 1.1.3 e 1.1.4. Por favor não tente fazer isso, pois seu iPhone pode ficar travado. Para estes novos firmwares usem o Ziphone em http://www.ziphone.org

Um dos problemas mais chatos do iPhone é o fato de ele não fazer o match reverso do número da agenda, com isso se vc não tiver o numero exato gravado na sua agenda, ele nunca irá mostrar o nome do seu contato, apenas o número.

Mais uma vez o Ricardo Vilar passou a dica de como fazer isso funcionar para o padrão de números Brasileiros, em seguida é preciso fazer a alteração no arquivo de formato de números para que o Iphone formate os números no padrão brasileiro.

Resumidamente:

1) No iPhone 1.0.x baixe o arquivo: http://cynix.org/iphone/AppSupport-8.tar.gz

1.1) Para os usuários de iPhone 1.1.1, usem esta versão aqui: http://cynix.org/iphone/AppSupport-1.1.1-8.tar.gz

2) Descompacte-o e suba o arquivo AppSupport, para o seguinte path no iPhone, você pode usar o iBrickr (apenas com o firmware 1.0.2) ou SSH (usando SCP ou WinSCP)

/System/Library/Frameworks/AppSupport.framework/

3) Para o iPhone 1.0.x, baixe o arquivo ABPhoneFormats.plist e substituir o original em: /System/Library/Frameworks/AddressBookUI.framework/ABPhoneFormats.plist

E reinicie seu iPhone, pronto!

3.1) No caso do iPhone com firmware 1.1.1 são necessário alguns passos adicionais, deve-se usar o arquivo UIPhoneFormats.plist e substituir o original que está em: /System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework/PhoneFormats/UIPhoneFormats.plist

Ainda para o iPhone 1.1.1, é preciso habilitar as opções Internacionais, e definir o formato de número para Brasil:
Baixe este arquivo: M68AP.plist e substitua o original em /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/

Reinicie seu iPhone 1.1.1 vá em Settings>General>International>Region Format e escolha Brasil

Aproveite e habilite o teclado em Português em Settings>General>International>Keyboards

Pessoal, finalmente consegui pegar um iPhone 1.0.2 “virgem” e tive a oportunidade de fazer o processo de destravar um iphone com firmware 1.1.1, o processo é MUITO mais complicado do que os que estamos acostumados via AnySIM e iBrickr, na verdade o processo de jailbreak é muito chato e cheio de possibilidades de erro e fiz muita besteira (ainda bem que deu pra corrigir). Dizem que o processo via a solução paga da IPSF é muito mais tranquilo, mas custa 60 doletas e não a diversão de fazer na mão

A ativação também é muito tricky, e o pior é que não dá pra se basear apenas em um tutorial, a cada erro novo é preciso pesquisar na Internet e participar dos fóruns para entender o que aconteceu, o processo de unlock do baseband ficou a mesma coisa usando o anySIM 1.1.1, bem tranquilo, o restante do processo é que ficou mais chato.

Enfim, com isso e agora com um iPhone 1.1.1, posso fazer uma análise mais clara e ver se vale a pena fazer o update e arriscar Brickar seu iPhone. Sinceramente acho que não vale o esforço, as funcionalidades adicionadas e o processo bem complicado não geram um ganho muito grande na experiência de usar o iPhone. As aplicações estão muito mais estáveis rodando no 1.0.2 do que no 1.1.1, além disso um dos itens que mais estava interessado neste update (teclado internacional), me decepcionou muito, não há opção para acentos com a ajuda do Saddi, consegui achar os acentos no teclado, mas ainda assim fica muito lento pra digitar no iphone usando acentos. Na verdade não adicionou nada na facilidade de uso e reduziu o tamanho da tecla de números, porque agora tem um globinho ao lado da tecla de espaço.

Enfim, Acho que existem mais coisas ruins do que coisas positivas e o processo é muito penoso e pouco documentado, fiquem com suas versões 1.0.2, ela é mais segura estável e bem conhecida

This week and in the next, we are having a visit from some Mozilla guys down here in Brazil, Asa Dotzler and J T Batson, They have a very tight schedule and we are trying to get a closer involvement with them. My entire team uses Firefox to develop, it’s easier and faster to develop web applications than any other browser, I’ve being using Firefox since version 0.7 and am anxious about the third version, Gran Paradiso.

At Globo, the numbers of Firefox audience is growing consistently, of course IE7, already surpassed Firefox, but it’s not fair to compare the ways IE7 use to spread itself. At our products, Firefox 2.0.0.4 and 2.0.0.3 are the most popular versions of FF (75%) then it comes 1.5.0.11(6%), IE still is the dominant browser with almost 92%.

I think Firefox has a lot of opportunity in Brazil, despite recent boom of PC sales, the majority of Brazilian PCs are very limited in resources and installing an IE can be very painful, in adding to that certainly most of the Windows instalations are pirate. Firefox is a great option for this users because is free, small and more secure than IE.

Finally happened, today Terry Semel stepped down as CEO of one of the Internet icons, after more than six years. The board didn’t choose Sue Decker, the president and the most capable executive to take on Semel legacy, Jerry Yang is the new “interim” CEO. But Yahoo! has some serious issues to address, I think the first thing is to decide what it wants to be, an engineering company or a media company or whatever company, one of the classics made public about this indecision is the Peanut butter manifest, written by Brad Garlinghouse, Y! SVP. He said “I’ve heard our strategy described as spreading peanut butter across the myriad opportunities that continue to evolve in the online world. The result: a thin layer of investment spread across everything we do and thus we focus on nothing in particular. I hate peanut butter. We all should.”

That was a message to Yahoo board, to Yahoo C level executives, to employees and to the market, the point is that maybe was too late, Yahoo lost its bright halo, yet being the most visited site in the world, everybody sees Yahoo nowadays as the loser in the Internet Battle. A friend of mine visited Yahoo Headquarters in Sunnyvale some weeks ago, and he describes the people and the environment as very heavy, and even sad, the entire company is weakened and depressed.

The big question is: Will Yang be the best choice for the big Y!? Will he do for Yahoo the same Brin and Page are doing for Google? Hard to say and hard to compare, Yang is from another era, another time of the Internet, he is not Web 2.0, anyway that doesn’t make him less than an icon.

Talking about the Yahoo in Brazil, I think things are not that good below the Equator, Yahoo never had a real leadership down here and never really won the peoples attention, they bought some important Brazilian companies, but didn’t had the punch to keep the growth and to be in the consumers mind. They are fighting for the 5th position on the market against Globo.com and iG. That’s not what you would expect from Yahoo, and they are pretty much doing the same around the world.

Anyway, I really hope they do something that changes this scenario, because I like the purple Y! and would be a shame to see Microsoft buying such a company like Yahoo!.
